Does anyone know WHY Pachelbel’s Canon in D recurs so much in pop music?

That was excellent. I wish I had the answer to why it is so popular but all I can think of is it is so darn catchy.

    I’ve heard a couple of theories –

Matthew Ebel said that it’s largely fourths and fifths, which harmonize well – psychoacoustics.

A few folks online posit that at one time or another, most popular musicians have taken and have had to play classical music, usually in childhood and Canon is one of the more memorable pieces.
